About Us

Travis and I started D&J Home properties as our legacy to pass on to our children. 

We consider Lawrence to be our home. Travis was born and raised here and I (Dava) have lived here since I was 4 years old. We both have most all our extended family in and around Lawrence. We love Lawrence and all that it has to offer.  Its eateries, green space, diversity, and the peoples compassion for each other. 

We have been married since 1985. We are soul mates. We have four awesome children and four wonderful in-law-kids. We have also been very blessed with grandchildren.  (with more to come)

D&J Home properties has been a dream of Travis and I for many years.  We have always had this vision of owning rental property here in Lawrence, KS. We spent some time in our married life as renters and we are using this as our guide for what kind of landlords we achieve to be, one of the best!

Travis Cooper, Owner:

I have over 15 years building maintenance, management and hands on repair experience in residential, apartment and commercial buildings. I have worked in the electrical, plumbing and HVAC trades.

I have experience with city building code officials, knowledge of the local and national building codes. I have completed minor to extensive remodels of several homes. 

Dava Cooper, Owner:

My wife, Dava has over 10 years of Small Business office management experience. Her bookkeeping, finance and State and Federal Tax knowledge is paramount to our success.
